Introduction Revised
Hello, my name is Sherrell Johnson and I'm currently at junior in college. I come from a huge family of 15 on my mothers side and 12 on my grandfathers side. We were always told you either go to school or go the the military and make something of yourself. Grwing up I never really understood what my mother was preparing me for. It was always do your chores, study hard and showing me how to handle business. She was so smart and the backbone of our family after my grandfather died. She taught me about God, life, family and being successful. I was so use to the good life meaning not rich but time with family. We would all gather and we would all be asked what do you want to be when you grow up. At first I wasnt sure but then i took a liking to wanting to help people who had been accused of crimes but were innocent. So I had my heart sat on becoming a lawyer. Before college i joined the Navy but later on found that I was happy there. So i got out and went to college to achieve this. while in college my mother became seriously ill with cancer and died at the age of 44. At the age of 24 I was motherless and lost, I tried to stay focused but after a few semesters i became depressed and lost interest. It seemed as if the family was broken and divided. the family was falling apart and I was the one that was suppose to hold them together. It felt like me my sister, dad and brother were all we had. So when my brother got in some trouble and was falsely accused of a crime It felt like something was telling me if i had stayed in school i would be able to help him. I was able to help him and this motivated me to get back in school and follow my dream. I'm still up in the air about my major but I'm sure that i want to be a defense lawyer someday. I needed this course so decided why not take it online. With a Mon- Fri work schedule it hard but I'm sure I will manage and get it done. I work for a Utility company here in Little Rock. It generally stay's busy but a great job to have. Im so excited about taking this course and being in school again. I know I am making my mother proud.
